Bloe industrial
Originally an industrial warehouse in Byron Bay, this 230m² salon fitout transformed a raw commercial space into a two-level environment centred around the insertion of a new structural mezzanine.
Recycled timber, custom joinery, commissioned artwork and a layered lighting scheme were developed around the intervention while retaining the character of the original building.
The mezzanine does more than provide additional floor area. It changes the scale of the warehouse entirely, introducing a second layer of occupation within a volume that would otherwise remain a single room.
“We needed the space to work for the business — good light, the right flow, materials that would hold up — but we also wanted it to feel considered. What we got was a team that asked the right questions early, kept us informed throughout, and delivered the project without drama. The space does what it needs to do and it looks the way we hoped it would. That’s not a given.”
